President’s Volunteer Service Awards

Congregation Torat El is now a certifying organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA).  The PVSA was created in 2003 by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation as a way to recognize the valuable contribution volunteers are making in our communities.  As active community service members, volunteers are eligible for this esteemed award through Congregation Torat El.  Participants may log and track their many hours to be credited toward these awards. Recipients are honored with an official President’s Service Award lapel pin, a personalized Certificate of Achievement, and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States.

Instructions to Participate

Step 1: Visit   www.presidentialserviceawards.gov

Step 2: If you have already created an account, simply login and proceed to Step 4.  First time visitors need to create an account.  Click the “Sign up for your volunteer record here!”.

Step 3: Fill out the required information, including your desired username and create a password.  Under the “Profile Tab” you can add “Congregation Torat El” by entering KXR-60151 in the “Record of Service Key”.  After you complete this step, the next page will be your account homepage.

Step 4: To create a new record of service, click on the “My Records” tab, then click on the red box labeled “Create New Record” located in the center of the screen.

Step 5: A form will open that you will need to complete.

Award Eligibility

Any individual can receive Presidential recognition for volunteer hours earned over a 12-month period or over the course of a lifetime at home or abroad. The following are the eligibility requirements for each age group:

• Kids: Age 5-14
• Young Adults: Individual Age 15-25
• Adults: Individual Age 26 +
